The kids were downstairs playing.  Next thing I know Victor is running up the stairs crying...

V - Dirkie and Evie won't let me play in their tent

So I go downstairs and tell them to let him play in their homemade tent with them. 

E - But he has to follow the rules.
M - Teach him the rules so that he learns how to play nice with you.
E - There is only one rule.
M - Well, tell him what it is and teach him how to follow the rule.
E, turning to Victor - You have to be at least 6 years old to play in the tent.

M - *sigh*

Victor-ism

Victor has been full of these lately :D

V, while counting carts at the grocery store - 6, 7, 9, 10.
M - You missed 8.
V - 6, 7, 9, 10, 8.

Children's Museum

We both got a Sunday off a few weeks ago, which is very rare for us to have a weekend day off. We took advantage of this and met Uncle Scottie, Auntie Sarah, Jeremy, Kyrsten and G at the Children's Museum to check out the Grossology exhibit. I'm not sure who had more fun, my kids, their cousins or Uncle Scottie :D

Syllie spent most of the time in her stroller and one worker had a frog puppet to entertain her for a bit.

G comes for a visit

On the way home we hooked Ollie up to the stroller and he helped pull Syllie home :D




They LOVED this tire swing


Syllie is getting so big - she loved running up and going down the slides all by herself. Mom of course freaked out about her falling off the edge of some of the ladders. I hate this age for summer. I have to be by her side constantly.

M- Hey, Victor, what's that?
V - Daddy's work.
M - What do we call Daddy's work?
V - Work. -with the biggest 'duh look' I've ever seen lol

After we stopped giggling, we proceeded to tell him it's called Rooms and Rest.

Victor-ism

V- Mom, I put an eraser in my mouth. But it didn't erase my tongue. See, it's still there. -Proceeds to stick his tongue out at me.

Happy Birthday, Dirk! He had a fantastic time at the WowZone with his friends and got lots of great toys and books and gift money! He's looking forward to next week when they are off from school and he can go fishing with Dad and shopping with Mom to spend his birthday money!

First Playground Trip this Year

We had the kids run around the school playground last week on our first beautiful day of the year :D

Victor loved yelling into this tube and hoped someone on the other end would hear him. But the other kids were too busy running around.

He loved swinging on this bar. For a few minutes...


Then he freaked out :D I'm such a mean mom for taking a pic of him screaming.


Victor thought he was such a big boy for being able to go up the curly stairs. Last year I wouldn't let him by himself.

Victor couldn't quite figure out why these things moved around when he tried climbing up on them. He really had to figure out how to balance. Didn't take him long.


Not sure I like the fact that my kids are monkeys and climb up to the tops of things. I just took a pic and walked away. If I don't see them way up high, then they are safe, right? lol

Victor and Syllie - I set her down and said "Go" and she was off and running to the playground. Her first time on a playground since last fall and she was excited.


And Dirk showing off how high he can climb on the monkey bars. Mom wasn't a fan of watching him flip around upside down. Freaks me out. So again, I just took a pic and walked away. I know I can't make them not try crazy things, I did as a kid. I just don't want to watch lol
